The basis for those works are movies from the real world. A movie can be seen as a 3-dimensional object: it has a x-axis, a y-axis and a time-axis "t". What can we do to reduce this 3-dimensional object to a 2-dimensional picture? The most simple case is: set t=const. This brings up a slice of the movie often called a single frame.

But what happens if we look after other case, like x=const? Or we lay our plane in a not-rectangular angle? This is the basis for many pictures I have made this way.
